Please bring a towel for baby, make sure that you have clean hands, and no jewellery.
We don’t mind! You may find that your baby cries during a massage session. This is completely normal and does not mean that you are doing something wrong or that your baby does not like what you are doing. If your baby begins to cry during the massage you are the best judge of whether to finish the massage or continue. If you decide to stop you are welcome to watch the rest of the class while you try to identify why your baby is crying and respond to their needs. All strokes are covered in the next class so you won’t miss out.
Please do not wake sleeping babies for a massage session as it does not mean that you will miss out. A spare demonstration doll is available if your baby is asleep. Alternatively you can simply watch the routine and massage your baby at home at a time which is better suited to them.
Don’t worry if you miss a session, we repeat everything each week and you can catch up on anything you are unsure of. If you need extra help just ask your instructor.
It is completely up to you to decide if you want to take your baby’s nappy off while you massage and most strokes can be performed with nappies on. If you do take them off, they obviously may have a little accident, but this is nothing to worry about. All mats are wipeable, and cleaned after each session and we ask every parent to bring along their own towels to ensure cross contamination is limited.
We will make sure the room is nice and warm for your baby and we will only undress them partially when working on a specific area of the body. Having said that, it is still good idea to bring a spare towel to cover your baby in case you feel they are too cold.
All oils are provided for you and are organic & vegetable based which means they are non toxic and full of vitamins to nourish the skin. Although the chances of an allergic reaction are unlikely, a patch test will be performed in the first session.
